Building and exercising our spiritual muscles mean learning how to maintain our sense of true self in spite of difficulties that may come. It means raising your level of consciousness to be able to move through the uncertainties in life without them shaking you up inside. It is strengthening your alignment with your core beliefs, and not letting momentary occurrences put you astray in your views about yourself and about life. And in here are 5 ways or thinking techniques that you can use to assist in exercising spiritual muscles and developing your inner strength during what may seem like life’s hard times.

1. Treat every experience in your life as your own choosing.

This may sometimes be hard to hear, but either consciously or at a deeper level within you, you have chosen everything that comes to you. And you did so for a reason. Some instances may be hard to own, but when you embody this and look at yourself as the cause of everything you get in life, you will take ownership of whatever you attract to experience, and not feel like the powerless victim who gives up his/her power to something outside of himself/herself. This will build up your own inherent power amidst uncertainties.

Know that life happens FOR you, always. Begin looking at everything in the perspective of “how is this serving me, what is this teaching me, how can I use this to better myself, why did I choose to attract this in my life, or what is this trying to help me understand or awaken to?”. Whenever you stay in the vibration of certainty and knowing that whatever happens is for your own benefit, the reasons as to why it is so will make its way easily to you. Because you are lining up your energy to perceive these beneficial reasons that are already in existence and just waiting for your conscious realization of it. As you line up your energy, you build up your capacity to stay in a higher vibration when similar situations show up again.

Since everything is of your own choosing, there will also be no need to blame and be angry at anything or anyone because you know you are at the cause of what you’re experiencing. The things and people are only the cooperative components to deliver what you have chosen for yourself.

2. Make your every definition in alignment with what feels good to you.

Since the beginning of time, you have the free will to define anything in your life in the way you choose to. You are the creator of your own life story and you are the one taking the lead role in your own movie. Use it to your advantage and tell everything in your life in ways that will support your well-being and amplify your inner confidence about how your life is going. How you define your experience is the way you choose between empowerment or not. You can choose a definition that uplifts you, or one that brings you down even more. The choice is always yours in every moment. Nothing outside comes with a built-in meaning except for the definition you bring forth to the situation.

3. Release the tendency to go specific about the uncertain situation and to make unnecessary conclusions based on how things are physically.

Go general in your approach to what is happening in your experience, and carry the general knowing that the Universe is always working in your favor and is always orchestrating the best plan to bring you what you truly need and deserve. Staying in this knowing will make you release the judgments that things are going wrong because in the broader, Universal view of things, everything is indeed working out for you. The entire Universal forces is conspiring on what would ultimately be of benefit for you, even though right now the physical occurrences don’t support it. On the other hand, going specific about uncertainties will just make you practice the vibration of something you do not want and perpetuate the negative feeling in your energy field. This will lower down your energy state instead of building up your inner power. Going general is an effective way of soothing the tension about the situation and paves the way for moving in the direction of empowered thinking.

4. Learn the art of trusting and letting go by noting how things always turn out perfect in time.

In hard and trying times, most things may not seem to make sense at the present, but by keeping a trusting attitude that at the perfect timing everything will be clear for you and that when you look back at this experience months or years from now, you will be amazed at how everything is just perfectly orchestrated the way it happened, you will be allowing yourself to let go of tirelessly figuring things out and holding on tightly to how you think things are supposed to be or supposed to have happened. You will instead feel a peaceful understanding and appreciation that it is happening in exactly the way that it needs to. Know that at the perfect season, answers will be revealed. Noting how this has always been the case whenever you look back at past experiences will strengthen your core beliefs of trust and faith in the well-being that is certain and a sure thing for you in this lifetime.

5. Stay grounded in the present moment where your true power is.

Your access to inner strength and power is always in the here and now. When you focus your attention to the best that you can do from where you currently are, instead of figuring out what had gone wrong or focusing too much on assumptions as to what this might lead to in the future, you will allow the power of your full presence to inspire you with the next logical steps that will move you into feeling better and better about where you are. This process of moving your energy level higher will train your spiritual muscles to sustain its strength and to recover quickly from uncertain situations as they arise.
